Keep Hatch Race Night
07/06/2008
Racing Lines were delighted to be invited to entertain Mums, Dads, teachers and kids at the Keep Hatch School Parent Teacher Association Party.
Once on the grid, age and experience became irrelevant, and after early preliminary rounds it was not only the kids, but one girl in particular showing early form, with Robin holding the fastest time. Indeed, she was so fast, her time was never to be beaten, and her place in the final secure.
However, when the team championships began, the event took on a whole new complexion. In particular, the kids versus Dads was a thrilling encounter. 4 races down and at the halfway stage, the kids' boasted a huge 40 point lead. It looked like it was all over bar the singing in the playground, but honour was at stake, and the men pulled themselves together to take glorious victory with 150 points to 146 points.
With the dust settling on the Racing Lines circuit, our 8 fastest drivers' came to the grid for the all important Keep Hatch Race Night Final.
Many Thanks, David Burk & Brogan West
With a mixed grid of Mums, Dads, teachers and kids, the sensible money was on the kids. Undoubtedly keen, they also had the advantage of having not drunk the beer now affecting the driving skills of some of their rivals.
However, nobody had accounted for Anne! We suspect she was holding back in qualifying, because with steely nerve in the final she slowly but surely crept away from her fellow competitors to secure victory and take the spoils.
Pitlane whispers after the event that Anne actually knew the circuit owners, have yet to be confirmed!!!
